Leopard trapped

Forest officials captured an eight-year-old male leopard at Bandihalli village in Channarayapatna taluk on Sunday. The leopard had  mauled many sheep and goats in and around the village for a month. The leopard was caught in a trap that was set up a week ago in a field.

Deputy Conservator of Forest Lakshman said that the leopard is healthy and will be released in Bisale or Nagarahole forest.

Five leopards were caught in the last six months in Channarayapatna and Holenarasipur taluks in the district.
