IIMs delaying announcement of candidates

The new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have delayed the announcement of shortlisted candidates who have made it to the second round of selection for the 2013 postgraduate admissions.

Owing to technical reasons, the list of Common Admission Test (CAT) candidates who have been selected by IIM-Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Kashipur, Udaipur and Trichy has been delayed.

Like the past two years, IIM-Raipur is incharge of the admissions that has to be coordinated by the six new IIMs.

Chairman of admission, IIM-Raipur,Pradyumna Dash said, “The candidate list for the Written Aptitude Test and Personal Interview of the six new IIMs had to be announced on January 15, but due to technical failures it has been delayed.

The data from the IIMs did not reach on time and hence could not be uploaded.”

In the next few days the shortlisted candidates will be announced, Dash added.

“The interviews for the shortlisted candidates will be conducted in five cities viz New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore on specified dates,” he said.

Some of the older IIMs have decided to give WAT and PI scores for the candidates who have been shortlisted in new IIMs as well.

A notice will be shortly sent out to the seven older IIMs to share the details and scores of the candidates enlisted for new IIMs.

8,000 Candidates Shortlisted

Nearly 8,000 CAT 2012 candidates will be shortlisted for 690 seats in IIM-Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Kashipur, Udaipur and Trichy for the batch of 2013-15 post graduate programmes.

“The interviews will be conducted by the representatives from new IIMs but the final list of candidates will be announced by IIM-Raipur, which is coordinating the 2013 admission process,” added Dash.
