Prabhu Dev, head constable attached with Yeshwanthapur police station and Shivanna, senior assistant of BWSSB, were convicted in separate cases.

One K M Abubakkar was named in a dowry harassment case in Yeshwanthapur police station and Dev had demanded a bribe of `2,000 to drop his name from the case. The Lokayukta police had caught Dev red-handed while accepting the bribe in 2008.  Lokayukta Special Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao sentenced Dev to six of months imprisonment.

 The second convict Shivanna  attached to the BWSSB Malleshwaram office, had demanded a bribe of `12,000 to repair a water meter.

Shivanna was caught red-handed while accepting a  bribe on April 25, 2007. He was sentenced to seven months of imprisonment. The court also slapped him a fine of `2,000.
