State Government to Grant A-grade Status to Hasanamba Temple

HASSAN: The state government has decided to include the Hasanamba temple in the list of A-grade temples as its annual income has crossed the Rs 1-crore mark.

The temple earned Rs 1.21 crore last year, including Rs 61 lakh collected from 30 hundis and Rs 60 lakh collected through donations and the sale of tickets and prasadams.

With this, the temple has become the first A-grade Muzrai temple in the district.  It will get additional and special grants for development works.

Assistant Commissioner Sharath has been appointed as the Executive Officer to supervise the works.

Last year, Deputy Commissioner V Anbukumar had recommended the government to accord A-grade status to the temple.

Hasanamba temple is open only for a few days in a year. The temple will only be open for 10 days this year — from October 16 to October 25.

Over five lakh devotees visited the temple last year and the footfall is expected to cross the six-lakh mark this year.
