70-year old woman injured in mob attack

MANGALURU:  A 70 year-old woman suffered a fall and was shifted to district Wenlock hospital on Thursday after a group of 40 to 50 people attempted to vandalise a broiler farm owned by a physically challenged person in Panja coming under Mulky police station limits.

Broiler farm owner Bhojaraj Devadija in a complaint with Mulky police on Friday,  accused his neighbour Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat (DKZP) Vice-President Kasturi Panja of instigating the group to vandalise his broiler farm.

However, the group fled from the scene when his mother fell unconsciousness.

As he was a Congress sympathiser, Kasturi Panja residing next to his house was stalling his efforts to secure a building licence for his broiler farm, he told Express.
