After the incident came to light, Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) opposition leader Ramesh Sontakki, School Development and Management Committee (SDMC) president Ganapathi Upari and other members rushed to the school on Monday morning.

The school authorities told them that many times in the past, miscreants had damaged the school property.
“Several times, the school had approached the police. In one incident, the police had even warned two youths from entering the school premises during night. But it is the first time miscreants ransacked the premises,” they said.

SDMC president Upari said in the last seven months, five theft cases have been reported in the school.
