BJP activist murdered by trio

BENGALURU: A 42-year-old BJP activist was stabbed to death by three unidentified men who were on a motorcycle, in Kamakshipalya around 9.20 pm on Tuesday. The deceased is Chikkatimmegowda,  a resident of Hegganahalli Cross near Sunkadakatte. He was said to be close to a local BBMP corporator. He was into real estate business and was also a construction contractor.

Police said that Chikkatimmegowda, along with his friend Naganna, had gone to his new house to drop off some things for the house warming ceremony which was to be held on Wednesday.

He was returning home on his motorcycle when the bike-borne men waylaid him and crashed into his bike. When he fell down, they stabbed him with a sharp weapon and fled.

Kamakshipalya police, who were alerted about the incident, rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Victoria Hospital for post-mortem. Police said there was an attempt to kill Gowda six months back. They suspect that old rivalry or a financial dispute could be the reason for the murder and are investigating.
