RSS worker's car set on fire

KODAGU: Miscreants burnt a minivan owned by a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker K S Padmanabha on Sunday night, leading to communal tension in Somwarpet.

Padmanabha, who is also an advocate, told Express that on Sunday miscreants poured petrol on the parked car in front of his house in Aigoor at 11 PM and set it on fire. The burnt van was taken to the local police station. Subsequently, RSS workers gathered in Aigoor and threatened to block the roads.

RSS workers have urged the police to arrest the miscreants quickly. Deputy superintendent of police Sampath Kumar rushed to the spot with additional forces including RAF and is monitoring the situation.

Two days ago miscreants had burnt a copy of the Quran in a mosque in Aigur.
