MYSURU: Congress leaders demanded that the RBI Governor recommend a CBI or National Investigation Agency probe against former minister S A Ramdas for his claims that he was aware of the demonetisation of high value currency notes.

The party workers who staged a demonstration in front of the RBI office here on Sunday, said: “If Ramdas was aware about the developments, all BJP leaders across the nation were aware of this and they have successfully exchanged all their respective black money. Thus, we demand an investigation,” they said.
Ramdas denies allegations

Former BJP minister S A Ramdas said the social media had informed about the launch of new currency notes days in advance. In a press release, he denied the allegation that he knew about the demonitisation of high value notes four months in advance.

He hit back at Congress MLA M K Somashekar for alleging that he knew about the printing of `2,000 currency notes in advance.
“I only meant to say that the ` 2,000  notes were printed here and it is a known fact that the social media had informed about the new notes days in advance,”he said.
The BJP leader maintained that he is the son of a soldier and is concerned about the country’s safety and security.
