CID report is one-sided: KAT

BENGALURU: The state government had annulled the final selection list of 362 probationers in the Karnataka Administrative Service in 2014 based on CID reports. But the tribunal said the government did not conduct an enquiry and verification under provison, sub rule 3 of Rule 11 of Karnataka Gazetted Probationers Rules. Under these circumstances, the finding of CID reports cannot be considered while issuing the impugned order, KAT said.
“In the present case, the applicants have a legal right to challenge the Government Order withdrawing the requisition sent to the KPSC for appointment. Admittedly, these applicants were not examined before the CID. The CID report is one-sided,” tribunal said.

The tribunal also slapped the State Government for asking the KPSC to stop the interview in view of the election model code of conduct, despite it shall not come in the way of appointment by the KPSC.
