Bengaluru: The High Court on Wednesday dismissed the writ appeal challenging the dismissal of a petition seeking directions to the State government to order CBI probe into the unnatural death of DySP M K Ganapathy.

Ganapathy had blamed former home minister K J George and senior IPS officers A M Prasad and Pranab Mohanty in an interview to a television channel, saying they should be held responsible if he is found dead.

The division bench of Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Justice RB Budihal dismissed the appeal filed by Ganapathy’s father K Kushalappa and brother K Machaiah.

In the last week of September, a single-judge bench of the High Court had dismissed the petition, stating he did not find any ground to refer the matter to CBI for investigation.

M K Ganapathy, who was serving as DySP at Mangaluru was found hanging at a lodge in Madikeri on July 7.
