BENGALURU: State BJP leaders on Friday met Governor Vajubhai Vala demanding probe by the National Investigation Agency into the murders of BJP and RSS activists in the state.
A delegation led by State BJP president and former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa met the governor. The former CM said the state police failed to nab the accused in the murder of RSS activist Rudresh, who was hacked to death near Commercial Street in the city.
"BJP and RSS members are being targeted by anti-social elements. We demand probe by NIA,'' he said.
State BJP leaders had recently staged a massive protest demanding arrest of the accused and have also threatened to launch statewide agitation if police fail to nab them in a week.
Rudreesh, an RSS and BJP activist, was hacked to death by two unidentified assailants in Commercial Street in the city on Sunday afternoon. City Police questioned several people, but are yet to arrest anyone.

August 14, 2016 - An RSS Swayamsevak and autorickshaw driver Praveen Poojari,(32), was hacked to death at Teppadakandi on Siddapura-Kushalnagar, Kodagu (Coorg). Torchlight procession was taken out by Hindu Jagran Vedike in Kushalnagar. Praveen, a native of Athur near Harangi was stabbed to death by miscreants.
March 14, 2016 - Kyathemaranahalli Raju (37), a BJP leader, was brutally hacked to death in Mysuru at Udayagiri extension in March. A gang of five men attacked him with lethal weapons. Raju had stopped the illegal construction of a masjid in Kyatamaranahalli next to a Ganesh temple.
October 9, 2015 - Prashanth Poojari a Bajrang Dal activist, was hacked to death in Moodbidri (Dakshina Kannada) for opposing cow slaughter.
November 10 , 2015 - D S Kuttappa, a retired State Government employee and VHP’s Organising Secretary for Kodagu district, was killed in Nov 2015.
