It was a conspiracy, cries Yeddyurappa

BENGALURU: There were many relieved faces after a CBI special court acquitted former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and three members of his family in the Prerana Trust case on Wednesday.
As soon as the verdict was delivered in a packed courtroom, Yeddyurappa and his family members and former minister Es En Krishnaiah Shetty heaved a sigh of relief. The former CM came out of the court and said, “I have full trust in the judiciary.

This was a plot hatched by my political opponents, but justice is on my side. This will give a boost to me and the party workers to shape the party... I will meet BJP national president Amit Shah and the PM soon and speak about the political conspiracy being plotted by rivals.”
Yeddyurappa’s son and Shikaripur MLA Raghavendra said, “Political opponents were making devious plans to end the political career of Yeddyurappa by filing false cases, but justice is on our side.”
BJP workers in many places distributed sweets.  Meanwhile in Hassan, they celebrated by offering 101 coconuts to the deity at Hasanamba temple.

‘CBI may move High Court’
Home minister G Parameshwara said, “I will comment about the issue only after going through the judgment copy. CBI may also file an appeal in the the High Court.” Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa said, “BJP is trying to take political advantage with the judgment. They are already under the assumption that Yeddyurappa will be the next chief minister. It is people who decide who will be the next chief minister.”
