BENGALURU: AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi blamed the BJP government for spreading hate and enmity in the Kashmir region and accused it of allowing Pakistan to brew trouble.“In Kashmir, we worked for 10 years for peace. We made sure the panchayat elections were held and we created employment. We wanted us to embrace them and them to embrace us. We wanted peace because when there is peace in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan cannot do anything. But the BJP has created a space for Pakistan’s mischief. Modi has destroyed in one month what took us 10 years to build,” he raged.

He added that for the first time, Russia was selling arms to Pakistan and India had managed to isolate every one of her neighbours. “It is about time Modi starts doing what he was elected to do,” he said.
He also criticised Modi for failing to protect the interests of Bhutan. “Bhutan has stood by India from the time they got their Independence. We have a treaty where we have promised to protect them. In June, Chinese forces entered Bhutan and our forces stopped them. Why were the Chinese forces in Bhutan in the first place? Why is Modi entertaining people who harbour ill intentions? It is because he is busy dividing the country?”

After Indira Canteens, Indira Gandhi residential schools next

After inaugurating Indira Canteens, the Congress government has decided to re-name some of the Morarji Desai Residential schools as ‘Sreemati Indira Gandhi’ residential schools. An official order issued by the Social Welfare Department stated that of the 250 plus Morarji Desai and Kittur Chennamma Residential schools sanctioned for 2016-17, 100 are yet to open and those 100 will be re-named after Indira Gandhi. However, this move has not gone down well with all. BJP MLC Arun Shaapur said It was a cheap political gimmick just to please the Congress high command. Social welfare minister H Anjaneya was unavailable for comment.
