Devotees noted that the temple runs educational institutions and such activities will have adverse impact on students.A case has been registered at Gangavati town police station.

Swami absconding

Kottureshwara swami is absconding and devotees are likely to hold a meeting soon to decide his fate.  However, a few followers of the swami maintained that it could be a conspiracy against the swamiji as driver of temple car Mallayyaswamy was removed two years ago. Vested interests might have colluded with the driver, they claimed.
