Gowda, who arrived from Delhi on Thursday evening went directly to Muniswamappa’s house who had submitted his resignation earlier in the day to Assembly Speaker K B Koliwad. The MLA was unhappy over the inclusion of several local leaders like Nisarga Narayanaswamy, a realtor into the party.

He was also upset about state president H D Kumaraswamy not consulting him before inducting Narayanswamy into the party.
After speaking to Gowda and receiving assurances that he would be getting a ticket to contest from Devanahalli again, the MLA had sought time till Friday morning to take a decision.
Muniswamappa went to Koliwad’s house on Friday morning and requested to be allowed to withdraw his resignation. Koliwad acceded to the request.
