Senior leader Krishna might have resigned because of CM Siddaramaiah: Prasad
MYSURU/ KALABURAGI: Former minister V Srinivasa Prasad said senior Congress leader S M Krishna might have resigned from Congress for being sidelined in the party.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he lauded Krishna’s contribution and termed him as “the most respected leader” known for his leadership and public image.
Prasad accused Siddaramaiah of cornering original and senior Congress workers. He said Krishna was not consulted or taken into confidence during the Cauvery dispute.
He recalled that Siddaramaiah, as a JD(S) leader, had on many occasions said he would send Krishna to jail. After coming to Congress, Siddaramaih did not take advice from or consult Krishna, who has more than five decades of political experience, he said.
The resignation of S M Krishna from the Congress party is shocking, said former chief minister Dharam Singh here on Saturday.
Dharam Singh said perhaps Krishna might have felt that he was sidelined. The resignation would certainly affect the party in the assembly elections to be held in five states, he felt.
Singh said he will talk to Krishna after going to Bengaluru and will request him to reconsider his decision.
