Govt holds promotions for 6 months

The state government on Wednesday issued a circular withholding the promotion process for all cadre posts in the state civil services for the next six months.

BENGALURU:  The state government on Wednesday issued a circular withholding the promotion process for all cadre posts in the state civil services for the next six months.

Last month, the Supreme Court had struck down reservation in promotion in government services and the state government had announced that they will seek a review.

Government employees are expected to take part in a rally on Thursday to protest the Supreme Court observations and urge the government to file a review petition.
