BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday flagged off nine street sweepers to clear dust from majors roads.

“Each vehicle will travel on major roads up to 50 km every day. These can be used to sweep arterial and sub-arterial roads. The brush-fitted vehicles will sweep the dust on roads,’’ a BBMP official said.

The official also said these vehicles are fitted with Global Positioning System (GPS) which will record the distance the vehicles covered each day. The GPS will also track how the vehicles are cleaning the road. The vehicles will be monitored by the central control room as well as the eight zonal control rooms.
