BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is making renewed efforts to find an amicable solution for the Mahadayi water dispute by writing to his Goa counterpart Manohar Parrikar for talks in this regard.

Siddaramaiah in his letter on Friday expressed his readiness for talks with Parrikar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fandnavis on a convenient date in June to find an amicable settlement for the Mahadayi water dispute between Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.

Siddaramaiah in his letter drew the former Defence Minister’s attention to his earlier letter in September 2016 to his predecessor Lakshmikant Parsekar. However, Parsekar found it difficult to attend the meeting (as Goa Assembly election was around the corner) and accordingly it was decided to postpone the meeting for some other convenient date.
