BENGALURU: In a move directed at easing the troubles of ex-servicemen of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal SRK Nair, Air Office Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, Indian Air Force, on Sunday said that extra efforts should be made to resolve issues of 'air veterans'.

He was speaking at the 'Air Veterans' Conclave' which was inaugurated at the Jalahalli Air Force Station on Sunday. With several complaints by retired IAF personnel about dues not being settled on time, the focus on solving such issues needs to be better, the Air Marshal said.

Nair also directed all pension sanctioning and disbursing agencies to conduct meaningful interactions with the pensioners and look into their queries and pending cases more carefully. Extra efforts must be put in to resolve these issues expeditiously, he said.

The conclave provided a single window to veterans and family pensioners with agencies such as Directorate of Air Veterans (DAV), Joint Controller of Defence Accounts (Jt CDA) and Pension Disbursing Authority (PDAs) and Director, Ex-Servicemen present to clarify issues pertaining to settlement of their pending pension cases. Around 1000 air veterans participated in Sunday's event with ex-servicemen from adjacent states also in attendance, a statement from the Ministry of Defence said.
