Panchayat Development Officer dies amidst doctors’ stir in Karnataka's Koppal

Gynappa Badnal suffered a heart attack and died for want of medical treatment owing to the second day of a protest by private doctors in the district.

KOPPAL (KARNATAKA): Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Gynappa Badnal (56), who had suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, died for want of medical treatment owing to the second successive day of a stir by private doctors in the district.

Gynappa had suffered a heart attack in Mukkumpi village in Gangavati taluk of Koppal district on Tuesday. Though he was brought to Gangavati soon after, he could not get immediate treatment as almost all private hospitals remained closed and the taluk hospital witnessed heavy rush.

Gyanappa served as PDO at Vanaballary Gram Panchayat in Koppal taluk.

Meanwhile, IMA Koppal district brach office-bearer Dr. K G Kulkarni said that a meeting is being held on withdrawal of stir in the district.
