Anti-superstition Bill may finally see the light of day

The Anti-superstition Bill was tabled by Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya in the Assembly on Tuesday.

BELAGAVI: The Anti-superstition Bill was tabled by Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya in the Assembly on Tuesday.The bill was tabled amid continuous protests by BJP members demanding the scalp of Minister K J George.

The Prevention and Eradication of Inhuman Evil Practices and Black Magic Bill aims to protect people from black magic. Any person who practices, promotes or causes inhuman, evil practices and black magic will undergo imprisonment for at least one year, as proposed by the bill. A metropolitan magistrate or judicial magistrate first class will try offences punishable under the Act.
