Siddu says Hegde insane, unfit to be a Union minister

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday called Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde “insane” and “hypocrite who is unfit to be a Union minister”.

DAVANGERE: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday called Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde “insane” and “hypocrite who is unfit to be a Union minister”. “Hegde should not have been Union Minister at all because he speaks utter nonsense”, he said at a public meet at Channagiri on Saturday.
He was reacting to Hegde’s remark in Belagavi that Siddaramaiah would do anything for votes including licking anybody’s boots.

“My government has been scam-free in its last four and half years. If any opposition party like the BJP and JD(S) has proof of any scam, I will not talk about politics in the future,” challenged Siddaramaiah said, “The BJP always tries to find scams in our government. I have given them an open invitation to discuss this issue in public. But they do not have the courage to face my challenge.”

“I am confident the Congress will come back to power once again and the hopes of BJP and JD(S) will be dashed. People will only bless that party which works for their progress and development.” Slamming state BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa, he said the latter created history by going to jail as a chief minister. He is the only CM to do so, he said. “I feel it (Parivartana Yatra) is a ‘repentance yatre’ of Shobha Karandlaje and Yeddyurappa to clear their sins. They are anti-people, anti-farmers and anti-working classes.

CM: What’s the President’s name?

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah treated the audience to humour and mono-acting at a public meet at Channagiri on Saturday.

His ridiculing of BJP leaders, including its state chief B S Yeddyurappa and MP Shobha Karandlaje appeared to have gone down well with the audience who cheered him as he spoke.
He made fun of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ and slogans like ‘Acchhe din’ and ‘Sab ka Vikas’.

At one point, the CM who was in full swing slamming the BJP and JD(S), forgot the President’s name.
“What is his name?” he asked the guests on the dias and himself replied, “Ram Nath Kovind and not Govind.” The CM urged the people to vote only the Congress which has given “everything to them”.

“I do not believe in yatras and only believe in our development works which have reached 90 per cent of the people. Let other parties stop their leaders from jumping to the Congress,” he said.

Minister for Major Irrigation, M B Patil, termed Modi as a “person who talks” and Siddaramaiah as a “man who achieves”.
