D K Shivakumar gives two silver elephants to Chamundeshwari temple

Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, who had been maintaining a low profile after the Income Tax raids on his residence and other premises, recently donated a pair of silver elephants weighing 31kg each.

MYSURU: Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, who had been maintaining a low profile after the Income Tax raids on his residence and other premises, recently donated a pair of silver elephants weighing 31kg each to the Chamundeshwari temple.The beleaguered leader arrived with his family members to Chamundi Hills for a darshan of the presiding deity during the Navarathri festival and presented the silver elephants to temple chief priest Shashishekar Dixit. Shivakumar, along with his wife and children, spent some time in the temple .

Shivakumar, who had performed special puja and homas at the temple after the raids, said he had come to fulfill his vow to Chamundeshwari.Clarifying that his donation had nothing to do with the recent IT raids, he said, “I am not a thief and liar. I am not scared as I have not indulged in malpractise. I believe that the Devi will protect me forever.”Shivakumar said he had fulfilled his vow by performing ‘tulabhara’ at the Kukke Subramanya Temple.
