Karnataka Congress MLA Haris’s son Mohammad Nalapad moves HC for bail for the second time

Congress MLA N A Haris’s son Mohammad Nalapad moved the Karnataka High Court for bail in Vidwat assault case.

BENGALURU: Mentioning about the bail granted by the High Court to one of his aides as one of the grounds, Congress MLA N A Haris’s son Mohammad Nalapad moved the Karnataka High Court for bail in Vidwat assault case.

Nalapad, who is in judicial custody, was one of the accused in a case registered by the Cubbon Park police for his alleged brutal attack on Vidwat at a cafe in UB City on February 17, 2018.

Justice John Michael Cunha asked the counsel for the accused to serve the copy of the petition to special public prosecutor to enable him to file objections if any. The case was adjourned to Monday for hearing.
It is stated in the bail petition that the police gathered evidence selectively and did not investigate the counter complaint filed against Vidwat and others. The chargesheet has been filed in this case and the High Court has already granted bail to the seventh accused Abhishek Murali in this case. So, the counsel pleaded that bail be to Nalapad.

This is the second time Nalapad is moving the High Court for bail. Earlier, on March 13, the High Court dismissed his bail plea. Last week, the city civil and sessions court dismissed his bail petition, and Nalapad has again moved High Court for relief.
