GADAG: Unaware of a snake slithering in his pants, a man from Naragund reportedly rode his two-wheeler for more than half an hour. Veeresh Kademani (32), a small-time hotelier, said the incident occurred at Naragund town on Thursday evening when he took his moped and went to market.

It is suspected that the snake might have taken shelter in the engine section of the two-wheeler which was parked near some woods. Kademani who did spot the snake went to the market on the moped. It is believed that once the engine started getting hot, the snake slithered into the pants of Kademani. As his clothes were wet, he did not feel the snake that had reached his knee, Kademani said.

He said he went to the market, stopped at a few shops and had conversations with his friends. All the while, the snake was inside his pants, he said. As he left the market on his two-wheeler, he saw the tail of the snake jetting out of his pants. Sensing the danger, he jumped off the two-wheeler and rushed into a nearby shop to unzip his pants, he said. He saw a 2-foot long brown colour snake go away slithering. The snake moved out of the shop and disappeared in the drain, he said. The shopkeeper, who is a friend of Kademani, said he was also shocked to see a reptile coming out of the pants.

“My hotel is in Sunnada Agasi where there are a lot of bushes. I had parked my vehicle and started riding it when the rain stopped. When I came near Virakt Mutt, I sensed some movement near my knee. I threw the bike away in fear and ran into my friend’s shop and took away my pants. I don’t know how the snake went inside my pants.

Maybe as the pants were wet, I did not sense until I saw its tail,” Kademani told TNIE.Shivappa Katti, Veeresh’s friend said, “Veeresh was in fear after the incident and we  rushed him to the Baba Saheb Hospital.
