MANGALURU: Rationalist Narendra Nayak on Thursday lodged a complaint with Urwa police in Mangaluru after an unidentified man seemed to be carrying out a recce of his house two days ago.

Nayak, 68, who is currently president of the Federation of Indian Rationalist Association is known for holding demonstrations on how to debunk godmen and fraudsters. He said on Tuesday when he was away from his house located near Karavali Utsav Ground, an unidentified man tried to strike a conversation with the wife of his security guard in front of his house.

When the guard questioned him, he triedto know whether the rationalist has a vehicle or not. The guard who grew suspicious about him asked for his identity card even as he held his hand and called for the gunman. However, the suspect managed to escape from him. Nayak told Express that the manwas speaking in Kannada and the guard has not seen him before.

The visuals of this have been captured in the CCTV camera installed infront of Nayak's house. Urwa police inspector Ravish Nayak said they have booked a case and are investigating into it. In March, 2017 there was an alleged attempt on Nayak when he was heading to a swimming pool nearby in a car. Two people on a motorcycle tried to stop him saying that his tyre had a puncture.

But Nayak who grew suspicious drove away. He said that was a tactic of a notorious group who are out to eliminate people like him and he could have been killed had he stopped the car. Since the last 2 years, Nayak has been provided with a gun man given the threat he faces.
