Organised by the AYUSH department, Health Minister Shivananda Patil and Mayor Sampath Raj were among those present at the event. Le Yogi Coudoux, 62, an international celebrity from France, wowed the audience with his command over his body as he performed the asanas. Prakash Amte, a wildlife enthusiast from Maharashtra, who is known to live with wild animals, was also present.

Around 2,000 schoolchildren, 1,000 NCC Cadets, 1,000 members of the NSS and 30 BSF personnel trained in yoga, were also present. Six students from Government Nature Cure and Nature College, Mysuru, demonstrated advanced yoga techniques. Members from NGOs, mostly women from Swasha Foundation, Vyasa institution, Art of Living, Sri Pathanjali Yoga Seva Shikshana Samiti and Yoga Gangotri, formed a major part of the crowd.
