Nagathan legislator Devananda Chavan said he has been receiving frequent threatening calls from the aides of rowdy-sheeter Mahadeva Sahukar Byragonda.

VIJAYAPURA : Nagathan legislator Devananda Chavan said he has been receiving frequent threatening calls from the aides of rowdy-sheeter Mahadeva Sahukar Byragonda. Chavan said, “MS Byragonda and his supporters have been threatening me via phone calls since the past three months. I have brought this into the notice of SP Kuldeep Kumar Jain too, but no action has been taken till date.”

He said  the threat calls have increased after he was elected as a legislator. “In a day or two, I will write a letter to the Chief Minister and Home Minister requesting them to provide security,” he added.
Reacting to the shoot-out case of Dharamaraj Chadachan, Chavan said, “It is allegedly a fake encounter done by the police department. In the past, similar cases have been reported but none of them bothered to investigate them. I will urge the Home Minister to reinvestigate all the encounters and shoot-outs of Bheema river bank”

Chavan said most of the shoot-outs and murders that are reported in the belt of Bheema river bank have been done by Byragonda. The police department need to take stringent action against him in order to stop the crimes in that belt, he concluded.
