The verdict of the second Krishna tribunal has come and the state government will take a stand only after our lawyers study it, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating several buildings and laying foundation stones for others in Manvi town on Wednesday.

He promised that his government would make all efforts to safeguard the interests of Karnataka to get its share of Krishna waters. We will not allow injustice to our farmers, he said.

He said his government was committed to complete all the irrigation projects in the Krishna valley in five years, spending `10,000 crore every year.

On the proposed 24x7 drinking water project for Manvi, he said the proposal has been sent to the Centre.

Siddaramaiah claimed that he has given a corruption-free in the past seven months. He said he had made 169 promises in the election manifesto and had fulfilled 60 of them.

BJP leaders are dreaming of coming back to power, but the people of Karnataka will not allow it to happen, he said.

He criticised Raichur MP Sanna Phakirappa over his son being involved in a crime. “Who took law into his hands?” he asked. He said Narendra Modi will never become prime minister as the UPA government will come back to power.

He inaugurated the new building of Morarji Desai model residential school for minorities.
