Alleging that bomb-making and arms training were thriving in the strongholds of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), CPM district secretary P Jayarajan has demanded a thorough inquiry into the bomb blast at Parat in Kunnothuparamba panchayat on Thursday night.

The CPM leader alleged that the youths injured in the blast were engaged in bomb-making. The area was a den of IUML criminals, Jayarajan said.

“The incident once again proves our earlier warning that bombmaking and arms training are going unchecked in League strongholds.

The police in the district turned a blind eye to earlier incidents, bringing things this far.” The police deliberately ignored repeated warnings by the CPM, he added.

“Meanwhile, the RSS is trying to fish in troubled waters and is trying to ignite communal sentiments in the locality,” Jayarajan said.

He cautioned people not to be misguided by the RSS propaganda to create a communal divide.
