THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has lashed out at the CPM and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for using the Solar report as a cover to finish off the Opposition, terming it cheap political vendetta. ‘’Disclosing portions in the report wherein the government has interests and holding back the rest of the portions is not correct. The full report of  the Commission should be published. The Opposition should get a copy of  the report. The CPM is misusing the report,’’ he said, maintaining that Commission reports are usually tabled in the Assembly but it didn’t happen in the present case. By divulging the contents and proposed action in the Solar report, the CM has helped the BJP once again, he said.

Ramesh said nothing could be commented on the Solar report and allegations in the air, without knowing the inferences or conclusions of  the Commission.’’ The CM had announced measures going to be taken on the Solar Commission report without publishing it, in the first hours of  the Vengara bypoll to torpedo the exercise, like what V S Achuthanandan had done during Neyyatinkara Assembly bypoll,’’ he said.
Underscoring the nexus between the CPM and the BJP, Ramesh reiterated the Congress accusation that the CM is helping the saffron group in one way or  the other in the state.

‘’By releasing the contents of the Solar report, the Chief Minister has come to the rescue of the BJP. It was the CPM which had provided a saver for  the BJP when the latter was mired in the medical college corruption charges, by killing an RSS worker in the state capital and deflecting attention,’’he said.
On the charge of V T Balram MLA that the T P Chandrasekharan murder case was settled between the Congress and CPM, he said that there may be different assessments and opinions on such matters.
