KOCHI: Police today arrested Niyaz against whom a look out notice had been issued in the case relating to the attack on College lecturer T J Joseph on July 4th.

Acting on the tip of a clue Niyaz was traveling in a train from Tamil Nadu, Police intercepted him Palakkad District, Police said.

The Look out Notice released by Moovattupuzha CI for Niyaz Kadukappilly, Kalady, on Saturday would have helped the informer to identify Niyaz in the train, Police said. He alerted the Police who swung into action to nab Niyaz at Ottappalam. The officers of SIT rushed to Ottapalam where Niyaz was detained, to take him into custody.Niyaz who owned a lancer model car helped the accused to escape after the attack. He also had made arrangements for medical assistance for one accused who sustained injury while attacking the teacher Joseph at Moovattupuzha on July 4.
