KOCHI: With the state police unearthing the vast network of Popular Front of India (PFI), the intelligence wing on Thursday started collecting details of those persons who had gone abroad through the airports in the state in the last few days.

Police sources said the state Special Branch had been directed to collect complete details of the persons who had gone to other countries, particularly to the Gulf, after the attack on Thodupuzha Newman College teacher T J Joseph.

In another development, a person who came to see Joseph at the hospital in Kochi was taken into custody by the police. Police said the arrested was identified as Aneesh Mohammed, 23, of Guruvayoor.

Aneesh, an engineering student, reportedly came to the hospital to request Joseph to paradon those arrested in connection with the incident. Police said they had launched a probe to find the whereabouts of the person.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Aneesh was said to be mentally disturbed, and was under medication.
