KOLLAM: Shortstory writer and brother of Kakkadan, Thampi Kakkandan, 60, passed away at a private medical college hospital here on Wednesday. He was suffering from various ailments after an accident in March.

He has authored several short stories and published a novel- Kalapathinte Orma. The body will be kept for public to offer respects at the house of Kakkanadan in Eravipuram at 10 am on Thursday. The cremation will be held at 12 noon in the Polayathod crematorium. He is survived by wife Valsamma and children Lalitha and Soorya.
