PALAKKAD: K K Ittipangi Achan, 94, who was considered as the third raja of Palakkattussery, died at his residence in Akkathethara here at 1.45 p.m. on Saturday.He belonged to the family of Palakkattussery Shekhari Varma.

Ittipangi Achan had worked as a teacher in the AUP School, Kalpathy, for the last 34 years. The 'Rama Navami' celebrations at the Akkathethara Vadakkethara Vettakaravan temple were held under his leadership for the last 62 years.

The cremation was held at Thekkinkad cemetery on Saturday evening.

Shafi Parambil MLA, district panchayat president T N Kandamuthan, Akkathethara grama panchayat president Valsala Chandran and Viceresident K K Suresh Kumar, Palakkattussery Sevana Samajam (PSS) president P P Surendra Menon paid their last respects to the deceased. RDO Kaladharan placed a wreath on behalf of the District Collector.
