All-women IPS team to probe crime against eves

At a time when crime cases against women are sending shock waves across the country, the Kerala Police have come up with a novel initiative.

For the the first time in the country, an all-women investigation team with four Indian Police Service officers will be formed to probe sensational crimes against women and to ensure speedy trials.

Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radakrishnan said that the primary aim of the team would be to solve important crime cases against women, including rape cases. “The team will be headed by four IPS officers B Sandhya, Uma Behera, Ajeetha Begum and Chandan Chowdhary.

It will monitor and review important crime cases against women and speed up the investigation process,” said the Home Minister in reply to a submission in the Assembly on Thursday.
