The Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge (Vigilance), Kottayam, has received a complaint seeking action against Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and former officials in the Home Department for burying a Government Order against the controversial business man T G Nandakumar who allegedly amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge (Vigilance) S Soman will hear the case filed by social activist Jomon Puthenpurackal on November 12. According to the complaint, Nandakumar is the first accused and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan is the seventh. Two former under secretaries, a former joint secretary, a former Home Secretary and the Principal Secretary to the Home Department are included in the list of accused.
The complaint states that the state government has in its order GO (MS) NO 66/2012 Home (M) Department & SRO No 119/2012, issued on February 22, recommended a CBI inquiry against T G Nandakumar following a complaint filed by Jomon himself on November 7, 2011.
“The following step is to collect a pro forma report having the details of the case from the DGP and send it along with the GO to the Union Personnel Ministry. However, the seventh respondent and the first respondent held a conspiracy meeting at the former’s house at Kottayam that falls under the jurisdiction of Kottayam Vigilance Court” the complaint says.
Jomon also alleged in his complaint that the officials concerned in the Home Department had decided not to send the GO to the Central Ministry yielding to the demand of the first accused and as per the directions of the seventh accused.
