Amid tight security, the trial proceedings in the case pertaining to the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader TP Chandrasekharan commenced at the Special Additional District Sessions Court here on Friday.

The police produced 10 remand prisoners from the Kozhikode District Jail and CPM Panur Area Committee member P K Kunjananthan from Kannur Central prison in the morning.

Special judge R Narayana Pisharadi had issued production warrant for 13 accused who were in judicial custody. However, due to some technical issues, the warrant failed to reach the authorities of the Kannur Central Prison, where two of the accused, CPM Kannur Secretariat member Karayi Rajan and Sijith alias Annan, a member of the killer gang, were admitted.
