KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has said that the Congress is against the development model of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Reacting to Labour Minister Shibu Baby John’s meeting with Narendra Modi, Ramesh Chennithala said that the Congress wouldn’t allow to introduce the Modi-model of development in Kerala. Modi has been inciting communal feelings to draw public attention and remain in power, he said. Most of the Congress leaders including union ministers were quick to condemn the meeting of Shibu Baby John with Narendra Modi.

Union Minister Vayalar Ravi said here on Saturday that on development issues, Gujarat should follow Kerala.  Describing Modi as a politician who has been instrumental in fomenting communal feelings, Ravi said that his development model couldn’t be followed. He said that the visits of ministers should be controlled by the CM.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation K C Venugopal was quick to express resentment at Shibu’s meeting with Modi.

He said that he wasn’t aware of the circumstances under which Shibu Baby John met Modi.
