The rise of Shalu Menon, from a small-time serial actor and danseuse to the owner of more than 10 dance schools, in a short duration had raised several eyebrows.
Shalu who has acted in only a few Malayalam films was made a national censor board member, allegedly on the recommendation of Mavelikkara MP and Union Minister of State for Labour Kodikunnil Suresh.
Media reports had said that she was missing from her house in Perunna for two weeks, after the name of Biju Radhakrishnan came out in the Solar Scam. Biju was involved in the setting up of a new dance school, being run by Shalu, at Chirakadavu in Ponkunnam a few months ago.
He attended both press meets in connection with the inaugural function of the school and introduced himself as the director of institution.
