Death toll touches 128

One person died in Kollam on Monday taking to 128 the overall toll in monsoon-related mishaps in the state.

A total of six houses were destroyed completely and another 80 houses were partially damaged causing a total loss of Rs 21.66 lakh. Crops spread over an area of 2.68 hectares were damaged in the rain, causing a loss of Rs 4.71 lakh. “Around 1.4 lakh people are housed in 271 relief camps,” officials said.
