Matsya thozhilali sangham robbery: Five nabbed, 12 lakh recovered

In a daring incident of daylight robbery, motorcycle-borne robbers snatched Rs 36 lakh from a person who was coming out of a bank in the city on Saturday. The person who was robbed was Yesurajan, who is the president of Matsya Thozhilali Kshema Sahakarana Sangham.

The incident occurred on the busy MG Road at around 1.15 pm. Police have taken five persons into custody in connection with the robbery and Rs 12 lakh has been recovered from them. One person is absconding.

It is understood that there were six members in the robbery gang, all from Uttar Pradesh.
