The fares of the KSRTC’s JNNURM buses and super class buses have been hiked and will come into effect from Sunday midnight.
The minimum fare for low-floor AC buses has been hiked from Rs10 to Rs 15 and that of super express buses from Rs 10 to Rs 17.
The minimum fare for low-floor non-AC buses has been hiked from Rs 5 to Rs 8. A hike in the fares of super deluxe buses has also be brought in. The minimum fare has been raised from Rs 20 to Rs 25. The minimum fare of hitech AC buses has been increased from Rs 27 to Rs 35.
The fare for Volvo buses for the first 20 km will be Rs 35 and every subsequent kilometre it will be Rs 1.20. The government decided to increase the fare after the KSRTC gave a memorandum.
Though the fare of KSRTC buses was hiked last year, the hike was not implemented in the JNNURM buses.
