Murder suspected in death of woman, 2 kids

A young woman and her two daughters were killed as the bike ridden by her husband plunged into a waterlogged area in Areekode on Monday. However, it is strongly suspected that it was a planned murder.

The deceased are: Sabira, 21, of Koodamthudi at Poonkudi near Alukkal and her children Fathima Fidha (four-and-a-half year old) and Faiba (two years). Sabira’s husband, Mohammed Shareef, 32, escaped without injuries. A police team led by Malappuram DySP S Abhilash interrogated Mohammed Shareef following a complaint lodged by a relative of Sabira and he is now in police custody. The police have got vital clues to prove that he killed his wife and kids. The accident occurred at Alukkal, near here, around 2.30 am Monday. They were on their way home at Poonkudi after shopping in Kozhikode. Sabira and the children were rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College but doctors declared them brought dead.

The relatives and the local people have raised suspicion over the time the family returned from Kozhikode. It was also strange that the family did not take their car to travel at night and Shareef was not injured.
