CPM secretariat nod for report
The CPM secretariat which met here on Saturday approved the draft report to be presented in the State plenum scheduled to be held at Palakkad on November 27 to 29.
The 150-page report has been critical of the novel trends and mentality that crept into the minds of party cadre.
The report contained the rectification document prepared by the central committee of the party aiming to purge the wrong trends seeping into the rank and file of the party.
The rectification document had been discussed in all the party forums in the state and recorded the feedback it received.
According to reliable sources in the CPM , several undesirable trends have crept into the party.
The attitude of the cadres towards women, alcoholism, non-proletarian lifestyle of party leaders, increasing trends of local level and middle level party leaders getting involved in activities that had been unheard of in the past to make quick money have also been referred in the rectification document.
According to sources, at different levels efforts had been started to check the rising trend of alcoholism.
It has been pointed out in the report that several of the party cadres, especially comrades from local committee level to area committee are involved in real estate activities and acting as middlemen with the intention of making money.
Major criticism is there about the undesirable developments involving former district secretaries of Kannur and Ernakulam.
It has also been stated in the report that the situation is not conducive for the women cadre to work with their male counterparts.
The dented image of the party leadership at the local and area level has also come for critical analysis.
The report also called for taking steps to make the ideological commitment of cadre strong.
The report will be discussed in the state committee to be met here in the next two days.
After getting its approval, the same would be presented in the Plenum.
