Sealing of speed governors in 4,000 private buses completed

As the sealing continues, it would take a few more days for the MVD to initiate action against private buses without speed governors

The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has finished the sealing of speed governors in around 4,000 private buses across the state. It is expected to complete the process by Tuesday. On Friday also there were long queues across the state to get the speed governors sealed. “There are 15,000 private buses in the state. By Friday, we could complete the sealing in around 4,000 buses,” Joint Transport Commissioner (Enforcement) C M Sayed Mohammed said. While it takes 15 to 20 minutes to seal a bus with a speed governor which carries the hologram and seal of the manufacturer, it takes much time for other buses. In the case of buses which do not have a hologram of the manufacturer on the speed governor, we conduct a test drive. The Transport Minister’s instruction that the sealing should be done without cancelling or delaying trips of the buses also makes the work tedious. As the sealing continues, it would take a few more days for the MVD to initiate action against private buses without speed governors.
