A police official who helped Salim Raj, suspended gunman of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, to get the details of a woman from Kollam who was detained in Kozhikode by Salim Raj’s accomplices, from the cyber cell, was suspended on Monday.

Poojapura Grade ASI Sunil Lal was the person suspended, sources said.

 In another development, the City Commissioner suspended Reghu, a policeman in the AR camp, for the loss of revolver and bullets. The issue came to light after the police recovered the revolver and bullets when one Rafeeq was taken into custody from Kozhikode railway station.

 On interrogation, he told the police that he had met Reghu during train journey and the two consumed alcohol.

When the train reached Kozhikode, Rafeeq escaped with the cop’s bag. Meanwhile, Reghu told police that Rafeeq stole his bag.
