Former Gujarat DGP R B Sreekumar said that the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi is the warhorse of RSS to promote communalism and establish a ‘Hindu nation’.

Speaking at the seminar on ‘Narendra Modi: The prime threat to Indian secularism’ organised by the District Congress Committee here on Saturday, he said that the Modi who has an RSS orientation is not a suitable candidate to become the prime minister of a democratic and secular country like India.

Sreekumar, who shot to the limelight following his allegations against the Gujarat CM during 2002-riots in the state, said that the riots had affected only in areas were pro-Narendra Modi police officers were in charge.

The riot had no reverberations in eleven out of the 30 police districts in the state where righteous and duty-bound officers were in charge, he said.

Sreekumar said that Modi has not attempted to express an apology in connection with the riots, as he fears that it will affect his electoral prospects.

Sreekumar also alleged that the government officials were forced by the government to take part in the RSS camps.

Earlier, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala inaugurated the seminar. DCC president Prathapa Varma Thampan presided over the function.

Congress leaders Bindu Krishna, Manakkadu Suresh and M M Nazir attended the seminar.
